How To Knowledge Base Employee Engagement

How to Add Polls to Your BlogIn Posts

Polls are a great way to engage your team and gather opinions on various topics. BlogIn makes it easy to add interactive polls directly to your posts. Here's a step-by-step guide on how to create and publish polls.

What Are Polls?

Polls allow you to ask your colleagues questions and collect their responses in an organized, visual format. Whether you're gathering feedback on a new initiative, planning team events, or simply sparking conversation, polls are an effective engagement tool.

Getting Started

Prerequisites

  • You need at least Writer-level access to create posts with polls
  • Your poll must have at least one question and a minimum of two answer options

Step-by-Step Guide

1. Create a New Post

Navigate to your BlogIn dashboard and click on "Add New Post" from the sidebar menu.

2. Expand the Poll Section

Look for the "Poll" section near the bottom of the post creation form. Click on the label to expand the poll options. This will reveal the poll creation interface.

3. Choose Your Poll Type

BlogIn offers two types of polls:

  • Multiple answers: Allows respondents to select multiple options (displayed as checkboxes)
  • Single answer: Allows respondents to select only one option (displayed as radio buttons)

Select the appropriate type based on your needs.

4. Enter Your Poll Question

In the "Poll Question" field, type the question you want to ask your team. Make it clear and concise.

5. Add Answer Options

By default, you'll see two answer fields. Enter your first two answer options. If you need more options:

  • Click the "Add another" button to add additional answer fields
  • You can add as many answer options as needed

6. Create the Poll

Once you've entered your question and at least two answers, click the "CREATE POLL" button. You should see a confirmation message that your poll has been created.

7. Complete Your Post

Don't forget to:

  • Add a descriptive title for your post
  • Include any additional content or context in the post body
  • Configure other post settings as needed (categories, tags, etc.)

8. Publish

Click the "PUBLISH" button to make your post with the poll live. Your team members will now be able to view your post and participate in the poll.

Tips and Best Practices

  • Keep questions clear: Make sure your poll question is easy to understand
  • Provide balanced options: Offer a comprehensive set of answers that cover the likely responses
  • Add context: Use the post body to explain why you're asking the question and what you'll do with the results
  • Check your poll type: Double-check whether you want single or multiple answers before creating the poll

Viewing Results

Once team members start voting, you'll be able to see the poll results displayed on your post. Results update in real-time as votes come in.

That's it! You're now ready to create engaging polls that will help you gather insights and opinions from your team. Happy polling!
